Director's Message - Destination Partner Newsletter February 2019

Posted on February 11, 2019 at 10:23 AM by Erin Coulter

Dear Allen Destination Partners,

On behalf of the staff of the Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau, I am excited to introduce you to our new Destination Partner Newsletter. The goal of this new bi-monthly newsletter is to keep our fellow Allen destination partners informed of industry and tourism news as it relates to our market and impacts your business.

As many of you know, our goal at the CVB is to market Allen as a destination for conventions, events and leisure tourism. We work to make an economic impact in the City of Allen via tourism. While much of our day-to-day operations involve sales efforts to book meetings and events at local venues and associated hotel rooms, the essence of what we do is promote Allen as a destination. And that’s where YOU come in!

As a partner in one of our hotels, our shopping centers, our restaurants, or our attractions, it is your businesses that we are selling as the Allen package. As someone who works in Allen, you are an extension of the Allen brand and we need your help to best represent our city to visitors and residents alike.

While this newsletter is intended to keep you informed of the latest news in Allen as it pertains to destination marketing, we invite you to keep us informed as well. Is there a new store or restaurant opening in your shopping center? Do you have special promotions that visitors should know about? The more we know about what is happening in Allen, the better job we as your CVB can do in marketing Allen as the premier destination for meetings, events, shopping, dining and entertainment.

Please be sure to share your news with our Sr. Marketing Specialist, Erin Coulter, who can find a place to promote it, whether it’s in this newsletter, on our website, or on social media. Or perhaps it’s just valuable information for our sales managers, Jessica Hollinger and John O’Hearn, to be aware of as they sell Allen to meeting and event planners. Staff contact information is below, we look forward to hearing from you.

Save the Date! The Allen CVB looks forward to celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week May 5-11, 2019. This year’s national theme is “Travel Matters” and we hope you will join us at our annual travel rally on Tuesday, May 7th from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. More details to follow in the next Destination Partner Newsletter, but in the meantime please book this date on your calendar!

All the best,
Karen Cromwell, Director
