It's spring in Allen, TX, and we have the perfect mix of good eats, great shops and plenty of indoor/outdoor fun to make some fun memories with your friends and family this spring season!

Spring Festival Season

The annual Allen Arts Festival is back at Watters Creek Village, May 12 - 14 presented by the Allen Arts Alliance. You’ll find an outstanding group of local and regional artists, showcasing original art, including painting, pottery and more. After strolling the art, stay for the live music and children’s activities. This is a fun event for the entire family!

Make a weekend out of it, and head out for a day of good food and great wine at the Allen Food & Wine Festival on May 13, featuring a wide variety of delicious wines located within the shops at The Village at Allen. Sip and stroll to more than 20 unique locations while tasting wine and enjoying local bands playing throughout the Grove 12 - 4 p.m. You can also enjoy the outdoor market with fantastic local businesses and artisans. Come ready to shop, snap photos at the photo booth and compete to win wine at the grape stomping competition!

Spring is in the Air

Be sure to also check out one of Allen’s hidden gems, Connemara Nature Preserve, a 72-acre natural oasis that makes a picnic in the meadow one to remember for years to come. Or grab a spot at Bethany Lakes Park and enjoy catch-and-release fishing, watching the ducks or playing disc golf for an adventurous afternoon!

Enjoy the fresh spring air at The Edge located on the south end of Allen Station Park. The complex features a concrete skate park, two roller-hockey rinks and a BMX track! The skate park is one of the largest outdoor facilities of its kind in the state. Now, let's see those bike tricks!

Finish your day outside with dinner at The HUB! This outdoor food hall has whatever you’re in the mood for, from pizza and burgers to BBQ and seafood. Check the calendar for Movie Night, Live Music Fridays and Crowd Karaoke because there’s a festival every day at The HUB!

Rainy Day Fun

Spring might be the rainiest of seasons, but weather is no problem in Allen with so many fun indoor options.

Kiddos can get their hands dirty and create something delicious with a cooking class at Flour Power! There are weekly classes for kids of all ages, from preschoolers to teens, and are a new theme each week. Your chefs in the making will learn recipes they can make at home! If you’re looking to join the fun, sign up for a family cooking event where everyone can get involved. You’ll cook two recipes that can be made at home together whenever you want!

Keep the kids’ spirits up and bodies active during rainy days indoors at Jumping World! Trampolines, the Slam Dunk Arena and foam pits will have everyone bouncing off the walls. From toddlers to big kids there is fun to be had for all ages. How quickly can you complete the Ninja Warrior Course?

If golf is more your style, take your swing to Topgolf’s climate-controlled hitting bays. Rain or shine, they’re ready to host your next outing with interactive golf, an arcade featuring new and retro games, gourmet shareables and a full bar for the adults.

Tee Up the Fun

Spring means greener greens to tee up outside at Allen’s signature golf courses! The Courses at Watters Creek boasts three courses and 33 holes for a unique round for golfers of any skill level and length of play. And explore the beauty of The Golf Club at Twin Creeks, an Arnold Palmer Signature Course with scenic views of Allen’s Spring greenery.

Shopping is in Full Bloom

Warmer weather calls for a stroll through Watters Creek Village, featuring an upscale atmosphere with boutiques, restaurants and a play area that sits alongside The Village Green. Make sure to stop by the award winning Birds and Words {a Home Boutique}. This store transforms each season featuring hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind decor that will inspire your very own rustic spring flare. Or plan to spend the day at The Village at Allen where you can gear up for camping season at Cabela’s, refresh your home decor at Tuesday Morning and update the whole family’s wardrobe at Uptown Cheapskate. While you’re at it, enjoy lunch at Dodie’s, Kelly’s at The Village or Uncle Julio’s. No shopping trip is complete without stopping by the Allen Premium Outlets, where you can plan to score deals galore on name brands like Tory Burch, Reebok, Le Creuset and so much more.

One of the best ways to enjoy the warmer spring weather is eating outside with the family. Allen has great patio dining at places like Grimaldi’s pizzeria and Village Burger Bar. More in the mood for Mexican food? Try Mi Cocina. Or bring your pup along to Mutt's Cantina, and enjoy some sun with your furry friend! No matter where you go, you’re sure to have a great al fresco meal!
