The holiday shopping season has officially started. With all of the hustle and bustle that comes with the holidays, we thought we would take some time to go behind the scenes of one the busiest times of year. As you may have heard, we’ve got some serious shopping around here. One of our most mentioned shopping destinations is Allen Premium Outlets. So, we sat down with Director of Marketing & Business Development Jennifer Dreisbach to get the scoop on how the center prepares for holiday shoppers.
Jennifer, who believes “the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra” (one of her favorite Jimmy Johnson quotes), shared how Allen Premium Outlets strives to create memorable and extraordinary experiences for shoppers during the holidays.
How early does holiday preparation start at Allen Premium Outlets?
Early! The Allen Premium Outlets team and our retailers begin preparing months in advance of the holiday season. Preparation begins with organizing our plans for great sales, promotions and events to enhance the shopping experience for our customers. So, for some, as soon as this holiday season is over, they’re already thinking about next year.
What does Allen Premium Outlets do to prepare for holiday shoppers?
Holidays are a big deal at Allen Premium Outlets. One of the main things we do is change the look of the center. As soon as Halloween is over, we begin transforming the center into a “winter wonderland.” We put up holiday decorations, begin playing holiday music throughout the property and add little touches to get the shoppers in the holiday and giving spirit. We also do several things to make shopping with us more convenient. We have extended hours throughout the season to accommodate the various schedules of our shoppers. Also, this year, we offered offsite parking with a free shuttle service during Black Friday weekend so our customers wouldn’t have to worry about finding parking during such a busy shopping event.
How many shoppers do you think come through Allen Premium Outlets during the holiday season?
It’s tough to put a number on just the holiday season, but we welcome more than 2.5 million visitors annually to Allen Premium Outlets.
What is your favorite part about the holidays at Allen Premium Outlets?
It’s just a magical time at the center. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is fun.
Do you offer special amenities for out-of-town guests?
Yes! We offer different incentives for tour groups. If a group wants to come out to shop with us, we have special offers and welcome receptions. Also, if they visit guest services, they can register for VIP savings passports and coupons for shopping. We also offer different amenities to enhance our visitors’ experience, including complimentary wheelchair rentals and stroller rentals for just $5 for the day. There is also a mobile app available for visitors to download and access the store directory and map to help as they’re shopping.
