It doesn’t seem long ago that we donned our hard hats and took you behind the scenes as we snagged a sneak peek at the construction site of Hyatt Place Dallas/Allen. Well, time really does fly because they’ve officially opened and we went for a visit to see the completed project. Let’s just say this hotel is even better than we could’ve imaged.
A Warm Welcome
Walking into the new Hyatt Place Dallas/Allen, you can’t help but tilt your head back and marvel at the beautiful décor that fills the space from floor to ceiling. The lobby area, referred to as the Gallery, is very modern. The vibe is warm and welcoming with chocolate colored wooden fixtures accented with sleek grey furniture and pops of color throughout.
As we began the tour, led by Director of Sales, Lisa Smith, we were greeted with smiles and a sincere welcome from the gallery hosts a.k.a. Hyatt’s approach to the role of front desk agents, where “hosts add a personal touch from the time guests arrive by coming from behind the desk to greet them” as Lisa explained. “We really want our guests to feel that they’re walking into their home away from home. Everyone is trained to provide a high-level of service 24/7.”
Around the Clock Convenience
Speaking of 24/7, that’s something Hyatt takes seriously. This hotel goes above and beyond to ensure each guest experiences a seamless stay while offering modern comforts around the clock. For starters, every stay includes complimentary breakfast in the Gallery Kitchen. We know, breakfast, been there done that. However, they’ve given boring breakfast the boot. Guests wake up to a buffet of premium items, including the signature breakfast bowls and yogurt parfaits that have created quite a buzz (seriously, there’s even been a battle of the bowls). Depending on the day, the themed and customizable breakfast bowls can be anything from California Dreaming, with grains, kale and avocado to Southern Comfort with skillet potatoes, sausage gravy and hot sauce.
Beyond breakfast, from a mid-afternoon boost to a midnight snack, they’ve got you covered. Gallery hosts will whip up something special from the 24/7 Gallery menu to satisfy your every craving at any time.
And if you’re thirsty, the coffee to cocktails bar features everything from espresso based beverages to your favorite evening libation.
Rest and Relaxation
As we entered one of the 104 guestrooms, Lisa shared that “each room gives you that suite feel with an added element of privacy”. The layout is spacious with modern décor. The sleep and work spaces are separated and each guestroom has been built with SoundBreak® XP® boards to provide a soundproof uninterrupted stay.
As we made our way outside, there was a couple relaxing by the pool. (Yes, our weather is so good we still get pool time in September). The outdoor pool area sets the perfect tone to layback and soak up some Texas sun. Another outdoor amenity at the hotel is the pet area available for your furry family members who are welcome to join you on your stay.
Taking Care of Business
This hotel offers 1,600 square feet of flexible meeting space that can be divided to fit the needs of your group. The largest meeting space comes equipped with AV and a built-in projector. “It’s a nice package deal that is already included in the room so our guests don’t have to travel with their equipment,” Lisa shared.
When you need to break away from the group or just need a change of scenery to get some work done, the Gallery becomes the perfect location for your temporary office. There are semi-private work areas along with several outlets throughout, each offering multiple ports to keep your devices charged. Even if you don’t bring your workstation on the road, no worries. No matter if you’re a Mac or PC, the Gallery offers both systems along with printing service.
And your devices aren’t the only things they’re keeping charged. There are also Tesla and Universal EV charging stations for your vehicles on the property.
