A Delicious Way To Not Ditch Your Resolutions

Posted on January 9, 2018 at 2:15 PM by Cambria Jones

Fit Factory OwnersOne of our newest restaurants, Fit Factory, is giving you a real way to stick to those new year’s resolutions. While they’ve been serving up “food with a purpose” since 2015 at their original location, Fit Factory joined our restaurant roster only a couple months ago. Fit Factory – Allen is co-owned by father and son duo, Bill and Dixon Kent, John Kirby, and Cody Crone. We sat down with three of the four to find out how they’re cranking out the recipe for healthy lifestyles.

Within the first few moments of speaking to these guys, it was easy to see the passion behind this project. They’re all excited about sharing a healthy lifestyle with locals and visitors alike.

“We don’t want just the “fitness person” to stop by. We want everyone to understand the importance of eating healthy. It’s not just about working out and having muscles, or getting in shape; it’s about longevity, fighting off disease, and for educating people about making healthier choices,” said John.

John is a World Champion Powerlifter and was inspired to open Fit Factory after struggling to find good on-the-go healthy options for himself. “I couldn’t really find anything that offered healthy, on-the-go, quick, affordable, quality food. So, I figured why not try and do our own thing? I’d like to provide a good option for people like me that are trying to get healthy and stay healthy,” he shared.

John teamed up with the other guys and the rest is history. They make a great team and all have some sort of athletic background. Bill is a veteran with extensive martial arts experience and Dixon has experience in football and track. They are very confident in the positive impact their food can have on people because they’ve experienced it themselves.

We had a few more questions for the guys, to help us dive deeper into what they’re dishing up. Here’s what they had to say:

For someone who is not familiar with Fit Factory, how would you describe your restaurant?

Fit Factory is a fast casual, healthy, gourmet, affordable food. You’re going to get top-notch food in a timely manner. Plus, we have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

What separates you from other health-centric restaurants?

The atmosphere, the quality of food that we’re offering and variety and the options that we have. We’re not just smoothies and we’re not just breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have a variety of everything. We can meet anybody’s needs. You can come here and find something, whatever it may be.

Another important thing is that we offer it all at an affordable price. The average price range for a meal here is $7.99 or $8.99.

There’s a common misconception that healthy food is not as appetizing. How are you proving that wrong with your menu and living up to your tagline that “healthy never tasted so good”?

People think diet food is gross and a piece of chicken and dried broccoli, but it’s not all about that. We’re able to offer healthy, but flavorful options.

Our in-house sauces are made from scratch. It’s the cleanest food that you can get, and we don’t make it until you order it. We don’t have anything in the back that’s frozen. All our smoothies are made with whole fruit, no sugar, and no purees. We don’t use simple sugars or anything like that; it’s made with pure whole fruit.

Nothing we have is fried; it’s either grilled or whole-baked. We don’t use butter, grease, or oils. Everything is made on the cook-top with cooking spray.

What are some of your personal favorite offerings?

Our salmon bowl, bison burger with sweet potato hash, teriyaki chicken bowl and the teriyaki steak bowl are some of our best-selling items, but you can close your eyes, throw a dart at the menu, and whatever you get will be good.

We also serve chicken and waffles. We emulate it by baking it to get a little bit of that fried taste and adding just a bit of salt to bring a little bit of a flavor profile in that. We have sugar-free syrup and agave. We also offer peanut butter as an option to put on the waffles and they’re very filling.

What advice do you have for people who are interested in switching to a healthier diet, but don’t know where to start?

Come see us. [Laughs] This would be a good place to start. We do offer meal plans. You can come get 10, 15, or 20 meals throughout the week. It makes it a little bit easier.

Our employees are well versed in our meal plans. You also have the option to order online and pick up the meals, or you can pick up your meals daily.

We know sticking to your healthy resolutions can be challenging. We’re glad to have Fit Factory to make it easier when you #VisitAllen!
