Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Allen,
opened in 2002 as Allen’s first full-service hotel, is off to a fresh start
this spring with a multi-million-dollar renovation. We met with the hotel’s
Director of Sales, Kristen Ralston, for a sneak peek of the changes on the way.
The renovation will include refreshed interior designs of
guestrooms and public areas, enhanced meeting and event spaces, an expanded
fitness center and the conversion of the hotel’s pantry into a new grab-and-go fresh
market to provide business travelers and leisure guests with dining options on
When the project is complete, the hotel will feature re-imagined
décor that Kristen describes as “Texas-chic,”
with “a lot of neutral colors like
shades of grey, white, and beige, with pops of colors like teal, bright green,
and orange. We’ll also have accents of cowboy boots, spurs, saddles, and
succulent cactuses,” she explained with a bright smile.
Along with all of the decorative details, the hotel’s
technology is also being taken up a notch. All of the guestrooms will have
digital access, allowing guests to check-in and enter their rooms using the
Hilton Honors app for an added layer of convenience. Another place where things
have gotten teched-up is the meeting space. Kristen led us into the boardrooms,
“We now have large flat screen smart
televisions in each of our boardroom with Bluetooth capability, so no more old
school projector screens. Guests have easy access right from their laptop or
tablet,” she shared.
While they’re freshening their spaces, they’ve also added some
new faces at the hotel. Andres Moncayo, joined the team as General Manager back
in December. He came from another hotel in the area, so he is very familiar
with the destination and brings a great calm and balance to the team. “I think we make a great team. He’s kind of
the yin to my yang,” Kristen expressed with a chuckle. Their teamwork has
been instrumental in making the renovation process go as smoothly as possible.
The renovations are well underway and they are excited to
unveil the finished product to guests by the end of April 2018.
