Ribbon CuttingFNLThe Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to announce the grand opening of the new Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen and Watters Creek Convention Center located at 777 Watters Creek Blvd. This $91 million project is more than three years in the making and adds 79,000 sq. ft. of flexible convention, ballroom, meeting and exhibit space as well as 300 premium guest rooms to the list of hotel and meeting options in Allen.

Delta Hotels is Marriott’s newest upscale, full-service hotel brand and the Allen location is the first of its kind in the United States for the Canadian-based Delta brand. It is also the first four-star, full-service hotel and convention center in Allen and one of the largest facilities of its kind in North Texas.

The project was a public-private partnership between the City of Allen, the Allen Economic Development Corporation and the Allen Community Development Corporation.

“We patiently waited for the right project to occupy this important piece of property,” said Allen Mayor Stephen Terrell. “In Delta, we found the perfect fit. This gem of a space gives visitors, event planners and locals alike a new way to experience Allen’s hallmark hospitality.”

The Delta’s convenient location off the U.S. Highway 75 and Bethany Drive is walking distance to the mixed-use, high-end shopping and dining options at Watters Creek by Montgomery Farms.

Rounding out the hotel’s upscale amenities is a restaurant and bar by renowned Dallas Chef, Stephan Pyles, who moved his iconic Stampede 66 restaurant from uptown to the new Allen location.

Attached to the Delta hotel, the Watters Creek Convention Center offers more than 90,000 sq. ft. of innovative meeting and event space. This includes the 40,000 sq. ft. Terrell Hall which has 32 ft. ceilings and completely unobstructed event space. The hall is named in honor of Mayor Terrell.

“Our first city-wide conference scheduled for the convention center arrives on February 27, bringing more than 2,000 students from across the state of Texas,” said CVB Director Karen Cromwell. “This conference involves seven Allen hotels and is expected to generate approximately $400,000 in direct economic impact between the hotel rooms, shopping and dining that will take place right here in Allen.”

The Allen CVB will move into new office space on the first floor of the Delta hotel in February.

Located just north of Dallas off U.S. Highway 75, Allen combines the big city amenities with small-town hospitality. Meeting planners will find sophisticated conference services and spectacular climate that allows for year-round recreational opportunities, including the exceptional Golf Courses at Watters Creek. Entertainment venues, outlet shopping and great dining draw both business and leisure travelers. Allen is located within 30 miles of Dallas Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field, with McKinney National Airport eight miles to the North.
