Delta Hotels and Watters Creek Convention CenterAfter years of design, construction and anticipation, the stunning new Watters Creek Convention Center and Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen welcomed its first citywide event in February.

The Teach Tomorrow Summit hosted by the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) brought more than 250 state educators and 2,500 junior and senior high school students to Allen for the organization’s annual conference. TAFE was founded to encourage students to learn about careers in education and develop the leadership skills needed for impactful teaching.

“Hosting Texas high school students exploring a career in education was a great way to kick-off activities at this new facility, and we enjoyed welcoming them to Allen,” said Allen Mayor Stephen Terrell.

The conference generated approximately $400,000 in direct economic impact from the expenditures on hotel rooms, shopping and dining that took place throughout Allen.

Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) worked closely with TAFE and hotel partners to bring the event to Allen and ensure their attendees had positive experiences at Watters Creek Convention Center and throughout the city.

The $91 million convention and hotel facility boasts more than 90,000 square feet of flexible convention, ballroom and meeting space and is home to Stampede 66, the latest culinary destination by renowned international chef Stephan Pyles.

Watters Creek Convention Center is located at the corner of Bethany Drive and North Central Expressway, a premier location within walking distance of the Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm shopping, entertainment and dining district.
