Allen’s Annual Arts Festival is Back!
With the arrival of festival season and warm weather, one of Allen's most talked about festivals is back for the 11th year. Pack your bags, book your stay, and throw on sunscreen because we can't keep calm about Allen's Annual Arts Festival, May 7-9, 2021!!
Treat mom (and the whole family) to a free socially distanced event this Mother's Day weekend at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm. Delight in the eccentric art styles, endless shopping, and groove from booth to booth, store to store while taking in the sounds of the live music performances.
This anticipated festival, hosted by the Allen Arts Alliance, is a haven for art lovers, by art lovers. Browse, admire, and purchase pieces from over 40 different local artisans, mastering artistic styles from painting to woodwork. Start your journey at Blue House Too on the corner of Garden Park Dr. and Village Green, where you'll find a lineup of notable local artists creatively displayed in the window of the studio.
Friday night kicks off the fun with a live concert from the Allen HS Jazz band on The Green. Catch the echoes of these talented young musicians who perform a number of cover songs while you get an early look at some of your favorite local artists. With three days of festival fun, you'll want to come back each day to experience what new sounds and art styles each day holds.
On Saturday, continue your tour by checking out some of the best jewelers, sculptors, and muralists around. If you're lucky, you might even catch a few artists creating original pieces on the spot. Put in your request and take home a custom piece and a memory. Then, switch up your senses and listen in admiration to the smooth tunes of Spring Creek Jazz on Saturday afternoon or sophisticated sounds of the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, Saturday evening.
The kiddos will love the family-friendly festivities that this fan-favorite has. Check out the fun crafts and activities held at the treehouse on The Green or the painting demos held inside Blue House Too that will inspire and teach your aspiring young artist. Afterward, they can release some energy on the treehouse playscape before you finish your art journey around the shopping center.
There's no way you're going home empty-handed (or on an empty stomach) after exploring all that Watters Creek has to offer. Make your way to any of Watters Creek's delicious dining restaurants. Dine on the patio or set out a picnic with food to go on The Green, where you can relax in the sun and listen to the live music that fills the air. Pro Tip: Turn this experience up a notch by creating your own cocktail crawl. Shop, stop, sip, and repeat by grabbing your favorite drink at each of their restaurants in between shopping the artists and boutiques. Start with Frogg Coffee Bar and Creperie, where you can fuel up on more than just coffee by indulging in their select options of local wine and beer. Then, make your way around the "U" of Watters Creek. Tap in at Mi Cocina where you can order a classic margarita, circle around by Edith's Café where their Pineapple Upside-down Martini will make you want to take another trip around, then end back at Village Burger Bar to finish off with truffle fries and your drink of choice at their full bar.
Be sure to sign up for the Shop Allen TX PlayPass to redeem special offers at participating Watters Creek restaurants.
Top off Mother's Day weekend by booking a special staycation package just steps away at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen.
