Never worry about striking out when you host your meeting in Allen

The Texas Amateur Softball Association (ASA) hit a home run in Allen when they hosted their 2014 October Annual Meeting at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas/Allen.

The Texas ASA is a non-profit organization that promotes youth and adult amateur softball by hosting tournaments and conducting clinics and trainings throughout the state. Texas ASA holds annual meetings each January and October so voting members can establish rules and guidelines, bid and award state tournaments and conduct other business.

The ASA District Commissioner, the Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Director and the Courtyard by Marriott sales staff teamed up to bring the meeting to Allen. The group traveled to Killeen, Texas, and successfully presented their future meeting bid to the voting members.

“It’s always been on my list as District Commissioner for Texas ASA to bring the meeting to Allen,” said Allen resident and ASA District 24 Commissioner Jerry Duron.

During the October meeting more than 100 Texas ASA members, representing 29 districts across the state, came to Allen for the annual meeting. Attendees commented on the quality of the banquet - from a taste-tempting menu to the smooth and efficient set up and service. Another bonus was the spaciousness of the meeting rooms. The Courtyard by Marriott’s amenities and services topped the charts once again!

Also scoring bonus points, The Courtyard by Marriott’s convenient location in The Village at Allen was a hit with the meeting attendees; many of them ventured out to enjoy some of Allen’s hottest shopping and dining with great options in easy walking distance and others quick to find off Highway 75 - only minutes from the hotel.

“I can’t say enough about the great support received by the Courtyard by Marriott and the Allen CVB in hosting this event,” continued Duron. “The voting members of Texas ASA made a great decision in selecting Allen as a host meeting site - so thanks to them and our Allen host team partners - it was a great experience.”
