This Season in Allen- Fall

Fall in Allen!

Fall season 2020 is officially here! When the weather cools off, we know how to have fun here in Allen. Maybe it’s the leaves crunching under our boots or the aroma of a Fall brew on a chilly evening, but there’s just something about this time of year that we can’t get enough of.

Firesides Blazing Bright

Sit fireside for happy hour at Bar Louie at The Village at Allen and savor their delicious Voodoo pasta while sipping on an "old" classic – The New Old Fashioned. Or, choose between the 38+ options of beer on tap at this "not so average" English Pub – The Lion & Crown Pub at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm. If your crew includes those of the four-legged breed, we have just the spot for you. Just remember, when enjoying the firepits on the patio at Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar at Stacy Green, try the fried deviled eggs, and don't forget to order a doggy bag for your pooch on the way out!

New Season, New Reason…to Shop!

Listen closely, we've got the inside scoop on the best places to find those fall must-haves. If you’re in the market for some new Fall décor this year, stop into Birds & Words {a home boutique} at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm. Indulge in handcrafted décor, specialty Fall designs, and unique finds. Within the 5 million square feet of shopping throughout Allen, you’ll also find some of the best in Fall must-haves at Lone Star Mercantile. As the locals say, shopping at Lone Star Mercantile is more than shopping. It’s an experience!

Leaves are Falling, Nature is Calling

As you may know, Allen is known for our 70+ miles of parks and trails. But, one of our best-kept secrets is the Connemara Meadow Nature Preserve. Visitors from all around DFW venture out every season to explore this 72-acre natural oasis as our very own “Nature’s Playground.” Take a self-guided tour through the meadow, open daily from dawn until dusk, or come out for morning yoga or an afternoon picnic in the pecan grove during your visit. You can also embark on an adventure on the Cottonwood Creek Hike and Bike Trail. This trail winds its way through lots of Fall colors along tree-lined Cottonwood Creek, playground areas, and passes through Historic Water Station Trail and Old Stone Dam.

Calling All Fall Flavor Foodies

It’s no secret that a foodie’s favorite season is Fall. Not only does the official season of baking begin, but foodie flavor favorites make their way back to the menu. Try Batch Bakery's fan-favorite, the Chocolate Pecan pie. The explosion of chocolaty flavor in every bite will keep you coming back for more. Or, head over to TwoRows Classic Grill for Texas chili that will give your family recipe a run for its money! With stewed ribeye, ground beef, and Italian sausage, stop in and see why this cozy dish won a People's Choice Award at the Allen Chili Cookoff!

Oktoberfest is near, Bring on the BEER

Prost! Cheers! No matter how you drink your beer – pint, stein, mug, or sniffer, Allen has some amazing places to grab a beer! The occasion calls for a solid lager like the seasonal Ghost Cow Oktoberfest – an original brew from our very own Nine Band Brewing! Stop by their taproom and grab a can of this rich and classic Märzenbier or switch it up with a seasonal favorite like the Candy Corn Scream ale. If you’re also a coffee lover, go where coffee and beer intersect in more ways than one. Order the Black Matter Nitro on tap at Armor Coffee Co. in The Village at Allen. Or, head over to Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm, check out Frogg Coffee Bar & Creperie, where you'll find more than specialty crepes and hand-crafted coffee. Their “Red, White or Local” menu features local DFW favorites like the Deep Ellum American IPA, Blood and Honey Pale Ale, and the Temptress Milk Stout.
